You need to identify the sound-card on your PC i.e. The manufacturer & model. Then go to CONTROL PANEL, ADD NEW HARDWARE double click to open the wizard, click next and choose NO for windows not to search for new hardware, click next, from the new window, select SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS, click next, for windows to display a list of installable sound hardwares, then click HAVE DISK to install driver version of Windows-95 on the OEM disk shipped with your sound card at time of purchase. After installing the drivers restart windows for installed drivers to be updated on your PC.I hope this helps you. Well the problem is a tricker. Firstly see if all the cords, cables and lines are correctly connected.
If it is see if it is connected to your cd rom drive. Then goto device manager and see if all the drivers are working properly. If u have a installation disk for your sound card try installing again. If u know how to open the cpu console open it and see if your sound card is inserted properly. Press it by your twwo thumbs.
The card will be the second from the bottom. Close the console and restart. If that doesnot work open your bios by pressing ' del' then go and choose reset defaults and restart.
